After the tragedy in Shamattawa, the Red Cross is working to assist the residents of Shamatawa First Nation.
The Red Cross is working in behalf of the federal government to fulfill immediate needs that the community will require. The Red Cross is coordinating flights to fly in goods such as diapers, baby formula and bottled water which are the major needs to the community.
Shamattawa is only accessible by plane at this time of year.
Red Cross is not taking any donations at this time but anyone who wishes to help Red Cross with any future responses can make a financial donation to www.redcross.ca or 1-800-418-1111.
