Canada will be turning the big one fifty next year and the City of Thompson is getting prepared to join in on the party.
The first meeting was held last week to draw out a basic outline for what the city is planning to do during the year.
Committees will be taking shape in the coming weeks and months to help out for certain events and celebrations.
The city is asking for volunteers to help make the birthday celebration one of the biggest events Thompson has ever put on.
Other northern communities have started to make plans as well. Flin Flon will join their Flin Flon homecoming weekend with the Canada's 150th party.
