The Keewatin Tribal Council is looking for donations in order to help with Shamattawa after their only grocery store burnt to the ground.

KTC held a fundraiser last weekend and collected money, food and supplies which they sent to Shamattawa thanks to a free shipment from Perimeter airlines.

The grocery store Family Foods has donated thousands of dollars worth of supplies as well to the community.

Communities such as Gillam and Bird have also donated supplies to the community who is looking for diapers, baby formula and bottled water.

The North West Company has opened a temporary grocery store to the public in Shamattawa, but supplies are at a low.
