The Norman Northstars had a weekend to forget, dropping a pair of games to the Pembina Valley Hawks over the weekend.
Friday night saw a relatively close game, with the Hawks pulling away in the third for a 9-5 win. The Northstars opened up the scoring 8:41 into the first period on the powerplay. Pembina would answer back just over a minute later, and would head into the first intermission up 3-2. Jordan Pfoh added the second NorMan goal.
The second period was a back-and-forth affair, with the Hawks scoring two goals in the first half of the period, from Tristan Day and Brayden Klippenstein, before the Northstars answered back with two of their own from Jon Tagoona and Sheldin Howard.

The third period saw Pembina pull away from the NorMan squad, beating Braedin Melsted four times in the final frame. Captain Jerome Linklater had the lone Northstars goal in the final frame.
Saturday was very much a game to forget for the Northstars, as the Hawks laid down a 16-1 beating. Hunter Rambow scored five minutes in, but it was answered by 16 Pembina goals. Travis Penner and Tyson Allison lead the way for the Hawks with four points each. Eight different Pembina players had three points, and every dressed skater found a way onto the score sheet.
With three points on the weekend, Rambow continues to lead the Northstars with 25 points (8G, 17A) in 30 games. Mitchell Reid leads the team in goals with 12.
The Northstars are on the road this weekend, taking on the Eastman Selects Friday, the Winnipeg Bruins on Saturday, and the Interlake Lightning on Sunday.
The team is next at home on January 26th and 27th when they welcome the Winnipeg Wild.
