Tonight marks the start of the MJHL championship series.
The best-of-seven is a true contest of the best Manitoba has to offer, with the #1 Steinbach Pistons taking on the #2 Virden Oil Capitals.
Game one will go tonight at the T.G. Smith Centre in Steinbach, with puck drop coming around 7:30pm. Games 1, 3, 5 and 7 will be played in Steinbach, while games 2, 4 and 6 will be at Tundra Oil and Gas Place in Virden.
The Pistons finished the regular season as the #3 Jr “A” side in the country and an impressive record of 48-8-2-2. They come into the series with a playoff record of 8-2. The Oil Capitals enter the championship series with a 8-1 playoff record, after finishing as the regular season runners-up with a 40-17-2-1 record.
The winner of the series will not only claim the Turnbull Cup, but will represent Manitoba at the ANAVET Cup against the SJHL champion.
