The future of the Thompson Public Library could become a bigger priority for the city’s next council.

The library recently received support from 100 Women Who Care Thompson for security improvements, but Mayor Colleen Smook says there are currently no specific city upgrades planned for the facility.

She says the building and its location have faced limitations for some time.

Smook says she believes the library will need to become a focus of the next council as the city determines how to move forward with the facility.
