The Mining Association of Manitoba has a new board president.
Ashton Crone takes over from Stacy Kennedy, who became the first woman to lead the association when she was appointed in 2022.
Crone has spent 19 years with Hudbay Minerals and is the director of Health, Safety, Risk and Strategy for its Manitoba division.
He says he wants to build on the association’s history while working with its board and members to pursue new opportunities.
Crone also thanked Kennedy for her leadership.
The association represents Manitoba’s mining industry and says its membership now includes 56 companies.
