Canada by Canoe Paddlers Near the Finish Line

When we spoke with Canada by Canoe filmmaker Kai Morgan back in August, there was still a long journey ahead. Now, the expedition is closing in on the Pacific.

An October 28th update from Prince George, British Columbia, says the team is aiming to finish at Vancouver’s Spanish Banks Beach November 14th.

The roughly eight-thousand-kilometre trek began in Quebec in April, with every kilometre covered by paddle or on foot.

They’re attempting the longest recorded single-season canoe journey while working toward a million-dollar fundraising goal for True North Aid, supporting northern and remote Indigenous communities.
