Medical residents in Thompson are working to get more eligible residents screened for colorectal cancer—and the test can be done at home.
The community project is encouraging adults ages 50 to 70 to complete a free stool test, known as a FIT, available through the Thompson Clinic’s ColonCheck program.
The test is recommended every two years. An abnormal result requires follow-up with a colonoscopy.
The project aims to increase local screening rates and help residents keep up with their recommended testing.
