Seven different Flin Flon Bombers found the back of the net for a convincing 8 to 2 win over the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Friday night.
Leo Seitz scored his first of two goals just 52 seconds into the opening period and the Bombers dominated for pretty much the rest of the game.
Hudson Brehaut and Leo Seitz with his second of the period gave the Bombers a commanding 3 to 0 lead after the opening 20 minutes. Seitz was able to streak down the ice and fire a nice snap shot low stick side on Will Bridgeo with less than a minute remaining in the period.
This put the Blizzard on their heels and the Bombers kept coming and didn't take their foot off the gas pedal.
Flin Flon scored three more times in the second with Ryan Ulmer and Ty Wasyluk both picking up their first goals of the pre season. Brenden Phelps from Voorhees New Jersey also scored his third of the pre season.
The Blizzard finally got on the board in the third period when Defenseman John Adlys snuck a shot through from the Blue Line on the Power Play to beat Bomber netminder Josh Wu.
Flin Flon answered right back with Veteran Rhett Ewen getting his first of the Pre Season and new comer Noah Larre collecting his team leading 4th of the Pre Season.
The Blizzard would get one more late with Kade Stringer jumping on a big rebound with just under 4 minutes remaining.
Even though it is just the Pre Season. new Bomber bench boss Cole McCaig was looking for a big bounce back after a tough 6 to 3 loss in The Pas the night before. " We couldn't of wrapped up the Pre Season in a better way than with an 8 to 2 win over our Northern Manitoba rivals. It feels good and I am really happy with the guys and their effort to respond tonight. I told the guys after the game, that I was more happy with how we played short handed. There was definitely some moments where things were getting ugly, but our guys handled themselves professionally and it could of got way more ugly, but kudos to our guys on sticking with it and not getting involved."
Final shots were big time in Flin Flon's favour at 44 to 22 and the Bombers went 1 for 7 on the Powerplay while Northern Manitoba finished up at 1 for 2.
Noah Martin started the game for Flin Flon and wasn't hardly tested with just 5 shots. Josh Wu came in relief and he made 15 saves on 17 shots. The Blizzard started Will Bridgeo who gave up 6 goals on 27 shots while 16 year old Carter Krahn stopped 15 out of 17 shots.
The Bombers wrap up the Pre Season at 4-1 and will now get ready to start things for real as they will open up the SJHL regular Season this Friday in Laronge.

The home opener against Laronge will go the following Friday September the 25th, which will include the Banner Raising Ceremony from the Bombers remarkable Championship run this past Spring. Flin Flon was finally able to bring home the coveted Canterra Seeds Cup for the first time in 33 years.
It will also be the Hall Of Fame Weekend with an Alumni game on Saturday afternoon starting at 2pm and the Hall Of Fame Ceremony Saturday night at the Flin Flon Community Hall starting with Cocktails at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7pm.
